Day 27 – Wolfpack Turf
This awesome monument stands at the entrance of the Murphy Center at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, NC. There are six bronze wolves representing six characteristics of a wolf and of a Wolfpack football player: Confidence, Spirit, Passion, Courage, Pride and Strength.
While it was not running today, this monument features a waterfall fountain as well as audio effects. I will visit again during football season, perhaps even game day, to catch an image including the waterfall.

Day 26 – Winter Bloom
So far the winter of 2012 has been more the winter that wasn’t. Here we are in late January and we continue to have very mild days and merely cool nights. Don’t get me wrong, the weather has been beautiful but I really would like a little snow.
The spring colors are beginning to pop up in the yard. This blooming tree has been fooled into an early bloom.

Day 25 – Parkwood United Methodist Church
I am working on a website design for Parkwood United Methodist Church. The current site design is missing a good picture of the outside of the church. It was such a beautiful day that I stopped by and caught this shot with the backdrop of the gorgeous clear blue sky.

Day 24 – A Light Snack
There are several squirrels that frequent my yard. There is always competition for the seed in the bird feeders. The “squirrel-proof” feeder often has a squirrel hanging from the edge reaching in for that forbidden snack. Sometimes you just have to give in and make it a little easier on them, today I tossed a couple of pieces of stale bread out in the yard and this squirrel enjoyed a nice afternoon treat.

Day 23 – Listening to the Echos
Late Sunday afternoon, I found my young friend Lane and his mom standing in their front yard. It was a cool and damp day and there were not a lot of people out and about in the neighborhood. Lane had discovered echos in the stillness. He would call out and listen for the response. It is so much fun to watch these new discoveries!

Day 22 – Rebound
I spent part of my Sunday afternoon at my nephew’s basketball game. I caught this shot of members from both teams going for the rebound. It was a good day for the boys in white. Great game guys!

Day 21 – Time for a Swim
Here’s another shot of those geese. After I had taken a few pictures of them, the two geese had seen enough. They decided it was time for a swim. It was also starting to rain a bit. That did not seem to bother these geese at all.

Day 20 – Look Both Ways
I noticed this pair of geese heading back to one of our neighborhood ponds. They both paused a moment to look before crossing the street. I suppose even they have noticed that some cars in our area go a bit over the speed limit.

One more picture of the horses from my trip to Oxford NC last week. I loved this stare I got as I approached.

Day 18 – Evening Meal for the Birds
As afternoon turns to evening, the birds of our neighborhood stop by to get one more snack from the bird feeder. Most of the birds saw me with the camera and quickly flew away. This little guy must have either thought I looked harmless enough or was just so hungry that he decided to take his chances.

Day 17 – Puppy Love
I caught this cute shot of my niece and her dog Brandy. Normally Brandy doesn’t care too much for being picked up. I suppose there are exceptions to every rule. Everyone needs a little love.

Day 16 – Welcome!
This cute little guy stands at the corner of my front walkway, shining a welcoming light for visitors. It was a cloudy day and his solar powered light is awfully dim. I suppose any visitors that may happen by this evening, will have to navigate past all those leaves on their own. I clearly need to rake again!

Day 15 – Blaze at Dusk
Here’s a second photo from my visit with family in Oxford, NC this weekend. I love to walk out among the horses on the farm. This is my favorite horse pic of the day….
Blaze paused from his evening grazing, to pose for my camera. Note the grass in his mouth.

Day 14 – Up a Tree
Sometimes you just have to climb a tree. . . Well, at least that was the case for these two girls on this chilly Saturday afternoon. This is how my younger cousins chose to entertain themselves during a family gathering in Oxford, NC, to celebrate my aunt’s birthday. Both managed to climb back down unharmed. . . there was a minor bit of damage to a pair of jeans though.
