Like many folks in our area, I am excited about the first hot air balloon festival to come to the Raleigh-Durham area in nearly 25 years. The WRAL Freedom Balloon Fest is scheduled for this coming weekend, May 22 -25 in Zebulon and Raleigh. So, when I read on social media that there would be a preview in Durham last night, I picked up the trusty camera and headed out the door.
Two of the balloons scheduled to participate in the festival, set up in Durham’s Diamond View Park, and were on display for a balloon “glow.”
I stopped by Asbury United Methodist Church, in Durham to get a few new pictures for their website. I really liked this one featuring the blooming tree to the right and the bright blue sky.

It is a cool February day and all is quiet at the DBAP, the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Soon this diamond will be alive with base hits and curve balls. Spring is coming, “Let’s Go Bulls! CHARGE!”

The bull stands guard over the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP). Soon this bull will be intimidating visiting teams while also serving as a target for power hitters. A long standing tradition promises “Hit Bull, Win Steak. Hit Grass, Win Salad”
Spring is coming….. time to get ready for some baseball!! Go Bulls!

After purchasing tickets to an upcoming show at DPAC (Durham Performing Arts Center), I wandered around a bit. I found this fountain just stepping out of the morning shadows of the buildings nearby. Even though this was a very cool February morning, the blue sky and sunshine gave a nice little reminder that Spring is not that far away.

Today I decided to give creating a panoramic image a try. It was raining again and I do prefer to stay relatively dry so I found a good vantage point in a parking deck. I was able to capture several recognizable Durham landmarks. A couple of my favorite “Durham places” are there on the left, DPAC and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park behind it a bit in the distance.

For the last couple of months, one of the main streets through my Durham neighborhood has been under construction. Small segments of road have been closed to traffic while workers remove decades old asphalt and deteriorating curbing to replace it with a fresh, “new and improved” road surface and better curbing to match.
LDCreativeMedia.com is undergoing a similar transformation. While the old design may still be technically functional, there is room for improvement. Some sections of the site have become a bit out of date and are in need of major attention. The time is right for a fresh look and feel to the site.
To date most of my web design projects have been constructed using html and css for the layout. Many sites have contained a little php here and there and occasionally a Flash animation. With the re-design of LDCreativeMedia.com, I am adding WordPress to the catalog of available tools.
During the construction phase of the site re-design, the older pages of LDCreativeMedia.com will continue to be available. If you wish to visit a page that you no longer see via the navigational menu, please visit this older homepage. There you should be able to find the content you were expecting to see here.
I welcome your feedback and comments on the new design and content. If you are looking for a specific project or photos from a particular event, please do not hesitate to contact me.
